Brothers and Sisters,
Here’s a letter from the Anglican priest in Folkestone. Those folks were raising money for a reliquary for St Eanswythe, and we helped put them over the top.
Dear Fr Aidan and Fr Andrew,
I would like to send thanks to you for the amazing generosity of your church members. What extraordinary kindness - we are overwhelmed here by your love and thoughtfulness. Please, please pass my thanks to those who have helped us, many of whom chose to remain anonymous.
And thank you both for your wonderful support.
Every blessing,
Fr John

Finance Update
We ended August with a deficit of $11,980. That’s due to the fact that, during the month, we paid our annual insurance premium, which is $15,000, and had several facility related expenses. That brings our overall surplus on the year to $76,000, so, as we enter the fall months and the final quarter of the year, we need to all make sure that we are current on our commitment to the parish (you can check REALM or just ask the Finance Folks), and, if we are able, we should all try to give just a little more, since some folks just aren’t going to be able to contribute as much as they had hoped.
St. Thomas School
On Saturday, October 7, we will have our First Saturday Practical Class on Orthodox Preparation for Death. Father Aidan will lead the discussion with lots of help from the St Joanna Burial Society. Please join us in the parish house to learn more about this important topic.
Coming Up
As we move forward with our Building Program, we want to remind everyone to use The Akathist for a New Temple at least once a week. Copies are available in the bookstore, and there is also a recording of the service on Discord. Our prayers are the most important contribution we can make.
We can also take St Eanswythe with us when we ask for her intercessions for our Building Program. Recently, our patroness has been to Turkey, California, and Japan. As you travel and pray for our new temple, or as you get together with friends, send your photos to us so we can post them on Discord.
On November 10-12, the ladies of St John's will be visiting the Monastery of The Holy Nativity in East Texas. This trip is limited to the first 20 women who reserve their spot by paying for their share of the Air B&B bill. If you would like to participate, please contact Misty Wright for the details.
Our Moment of Grace and Courtesy
If you are the parent or grandparent of a young child, please remember that, whether you are outside or inside one of the buildings, you must be able to see that child at all times. If you need assistance with your children, please do not hesitate to ask, but it is not enough to simply assume that others in the parish will keep track of your child. Parenting styles differ, but, please remember that, when you are at church, the expectation of our community is that your child will be in your direct line of sight at all times.
An unworthy priest,
