Repentance Both Christ Jesus and St. John the Forerunner began their ministries with the identical message of "repentance". This is a translation of the Greek word metanoia, which means to turn around and set out in the opposite direction. It is always used to signify a drastic change of life-direction, a "change of heart" which results in a change of life. In repentance we change from seeking self gratification, which is our natural human tendency, to seeking after God. |
